Thyme
Thyme is used as an aromatic in cooking as it has a strong taste and aroma. In Greek cuisine it is used as an aromatic spice in meatballs, stuffed meat, poultry and pies. It generally goes well with meat (chicken, beef, rabbit) which are cooked with tomato sauce and wine, roasts and sauces.
As a herb, it has a strong effect against various bacteria and viruses. In addition, it helps to expectorate coughs and relaxes respiratory spasms. It is also recommended in cases of inflammation of the respiratory tract, especially bronchitis
Pour over 1 kg of herb with 150 ml of hot water, leave it covered for 10-15 minutes, drink several times a day.

Botanical elements
Thyme belongs to the thyme family and is a small shrub up to 50 cm tall with a woody and strongly branched stem. The leaves are small, lanceolate, gray and fluffy on the underside. The flowers appear from April to September. They are blue violet to light pink and grow in tufts. The plants give off a strong aroma. Thyme loves dry, sunny places and its homeland is the rocky and bushy lands of the Mediterranean.
